About us

Here you can read a description of us through the eyes of and described by someone else. We have asked Corine Spaans to interview us, because we feel that interviews are easier to read than when it is just us describing who we are and what we do.

Red, white and blue, times two.

Whenever Kari and André talk about Norway, they can’t help but smile. They can’t stop talking about the peace and quiet, Norway’s nature, the patience of the Norwegians, their balance between work and private life, the fact that the Norwegians spend a lot of time outdoors, how they “just hike to the top of a mountain” after working hours, because that mountain is literally their backyard. They talk about how André, every time he drives the car from the ferry onto land, is so amazed that everyone is so patient, and no one uses their car horn, how there is no Sunday opening for the stores, because on Sunday, people go out and explore nature.

Kari is Norwegian and has been living in the Netherlands for 37 years. She’s more Dutch than she cares to admit, she confesses. She’s also proud to live here. She can’t and won’t give up the Netherlands. The dynamics, the professional mindset and passion, it suits her very well. “I love working, discovering fun things.” But she also loves the Dutch conviviality and ease of living.

André and Kari met 26 years ago. André: “That was also my introduction to Norway, and the country and culture got me from the outset. The natural beauty, the landscapes, the raw edginess. But also, the friendliness and warmth of its people.”

These entrepreneurs have united the best of both countries. They take others on a journey into their life in Norway. The stories speak of Norwegian products, such as wrist warmers and hats. The wool is provided by Norwegian sheep. Kari and André visited the Norwegian wool factory where the fourth and fifth generation of wool manufacturers “work extremely hard”. They talk about this in their blog.

They want to show us details about their life there and want others to experience it for themselves. Kari and André know their way around and can point out the most beautiful destinations. Not the tourist destinations, but the backyard of Kari’s family. The ferry takes you to another island within twenty minutes and transports you to a totally different world.

They point you in the right direction, to Norway, in Norway, but also on the journey from Norway to the Netherlands. Taking products from the Netherlands to Norway or bringing Norwegian entrepreneurs who want to get acquainted with the Dutch entrepreneurial zeal to the Netherlands.

Kari and André feel at home in Norway and the Netherlands, and want to share this feeling with others.

Nørderland, we know the way.
